I just wanted to do a quick post on my Nephew Taylor. I found out today that he earned his Faith in God award! I’m very proud of him and his efforts to follow the commandments.

If everyone has a moment and could just post a quick comment to Taylor that would be great.

This is Linda (Carrie’s Mom). There are a couple of things I wanted to let you all know about. First, as many of you may already know, on July 29, 2009 Aunt Katie is hosting a get-together for all of the family at Silver Falls, Oregon. it’s a tradition of her family to invite anyone in the family who can to come to breakfast at Silver Falls on the last Saturday in July. This year we’d especially like to have as many as possible come. If at all possible Grandpa Roberts will be there too, which brings up the second item.

We’d like to buy a recliner for Grandpa for Christmas. Mike Lyman has set up this post so that you can contribute if you would like. Click on the “Chip In” button and follow the instructions.

What is Chipin?

Chipin is simpy an easy way for us to collect all the money from everyone. You click the link it takes you to Mike’s paypal account and you use a credit or debit card to deposit the money. Then, we take the money everyone submitted and go buy Grandpa Roberts a nice recliner. There is lots of news and media surrounding some key propositions on marriage coming up in this election year around our nation.

The two biggest propositions on marriage are

• Proposition 8 in California
• Proposition 102 in Arizona

Both propositions are trying to ammend state constitutions to define marriage as been a man and a woman.

I am in favor of both of these propositions and encourage everyone that values marriage and family to support these propositions. Although I can’t cast my vote in these states I thought I would help spread the word.
