How has 9/11 impacted your life?

11 Sep

I saw this great video from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It depicts a great story of one of the 9/11 survivors and how he changed his life for the better through his experience.

I remember that on September 11, 2001 I arrived at West High School in Tracy CA where I taught 9th grade Physics. Mya was only a month old and Carrie and I lived in Manteca CA. I remember when I arrived at school everyone was in shock. We were all watching the news. The entire day we dedicated to watching the news and trying to understand what was happening.

Enjoy the video! I did.

Trent’s officially an RN

Thought I’d help spread the word that Trent (that’s my brother) passed his Utah RN exam and received his RN license yesterday! We’re all proud of him and think it’s simply awesome! He is fielding a few different job opportunities (he’s in high demand ;-) ) both locally in Orem/Provo area as well as mid/southern Utah.

Babble’s Interview with mother of 8 – twins & sextuplets!

30 Dec

Ever had one of those days that seem very tough! We all do and of course when I saw this article about a family with 8 children (twins and sextuplets) I thought wow! Now that is amazing. It’s a great read and also has some great insights into raising lots of kids on a tight budget for those of us feeling the pocket book squeeze.

Here’s the intro paragraph:

“In an alternate universe, Jon and Kate Plus Eight’s Kate Gosselin could have been the mom we all love to hate: children with coordinated outfits, a spotless home, every detail of her life meticulously planned and executed. However, in this universe, Kate Gosselin gave birth to twins, followed four years later by sextuplets — and with her type-A personality subverted by the constant chaos of eight children, she’s become one of reality televison’s most sympathetic characters.”
