Madie turns 4 - A year in review

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

Madie Eating BreakfastHappy Birthday Madie!

Today marks year number 4. Madalynn was born in Logan Regional Hospital 4 years ago! Man how time sure flies. This year for Madie has been full of changes for Madie.
A move to Woods Cross meant a new school and new doctors. She has progressed wonderfully this last year and is such a wonderful joy and spirit in our family! Kennedy and Madie are such good friends, as are all our girls. It is such a wonderful thing to have girls so close together in age. They play and help each other and each adds a wonderful spirit and personality to the mix.

Mya’s 2005 Preschool scrapbook goes digital

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

We’ve really enjoyed our girl’s preschool scrapbooks and now you can too. Check out the wonderful world of Mya back in 2005 as she did her first year of preschool. She had such a fun time and she was so very cute! She truly has grown up!

Watch the slideshow of her scrapbook ( suggest opening it out of the blog to view it bigger ;-))

Cubs vs. Braves - My first MLB game since 1994

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

I’ve spent the last few days in Chicago for the Internet Retailer Conference 2008. I had the opportunity to go to a Chicago Cubs game on Tuesday night (because one of the companies I do business with invited me for free…) Not being a huge baseball fan I probably wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t free. I remember the last MLB game I went to (also for free) was back in 1994 when the San Francisco giants played the Cincinnati Reds and lost 4 - 17. It was very hot and very boring. Ever since that time I’ve never wanted to go to a MLB game again.

However, this experience was much, much better. Maybe it was the fact that it was Wrigley field, the Cubs or the fact that we had a rooftop party seating with all the free food and drinks I could muster. The game was great, exciting and somewhat close, the food was fabulous, and the people were fun to hang out with.

Blue Mountain Lodge-Roberts Reunion

Published by carrie.lyman under The Lyman Family

Vance Roberts at the Cabin We are getting ever closer to the Roberts Family reunion and hopefully everyone is still on board. It should be a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another better and to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Roberts. Get ready for some fun! A few of us have taken some liberties to help organize the event. Any and all input is definitely suggested. This is just a way to get the ball rolling on ideas and some discussion about how to make this work! (Post a comment or email us at carrie.lyman@gmail.com)

Father & Daughter Campout 2008

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

Every year the wards we have been in have a father and sons camp out in late May or early June. Typically, because I’ve been involved in the youngmen’s organization, I’ve either helped plan or have gone with some young men. Mya and Olivia have gone three years in a row, this year being the third year. We’ve had a lot of fun and it was something we have been looking forward to all year

For Father & Daughter camp with the Woods Cross 9th ward we left this last Friday, May 16 and went up to a little town called Wanship, UT. Wanship is located along interstate 80 as you head East towards Wyoming. It is only a free exit and not much more so if you blink you’ll miss it! I had not been up past Park City in years, probably 10 years. So it was fun to see the changes to Park City since the Olympics and the growth that the Park City area has had since my last visit.

Kauai Con’t

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

Carrie and Mike at the Hawaii TempleOk so it’s almost been two weeks since we got home and we still haven’t put up the rest of what we did during our week in Kauai… Thus, here it is in a shortened and very sweet post! I don’t know if it is typically after your vacations but time seems to get gobbled up playing catchup after a vacation. Work, rather then stopping while one is away, simply piles into chaos until one work to smooth things over. I’d really like to be back in Hawaii… Have tempted to relocate. Especially considering that yesterday we went from 81 to 30 in under 12 hours. From beautiful sunshine to fog, rain, and… snow! Well read on to hear about the last 4 days of  our Kauai vacation Continue Reading »

Kennedy’s 2nd Birthday

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

Kennedy eating cake with dadApril 7, 2008… Happy Birthday Kennedy! That’s right, two years old and on top of the world! Kennedy is a wonderful girl and so happy and bright! She adds such a wonderful spirit to our family. Kennedy and Madie are especially good friends. They play so much together and help each other all the time… although there is the occasional WWF wrestling match (worth watching if you’re bored). I still remember when Carrie and I decided to have a 4th child so soon after Madie. I understand more clearly now the great blessing that Kennedy is to our family and to her sisters! How wise the Lord is and how grateful I am that we listened! Continue Reading »
