2008 Lyman Summer Review

Published by mblyman under Melting Pot

Here’s some great photos from this summer. We’ve had a lot of fun with a couple family reunions, camping and visits from family and friends.

This summer is a litter shorter then normal as our kids are in year round school. Mya, Olivia and maybe Maddie will start school tomorrow so I guess summer is officially over…

Enjoy the pictures. We’ve sure had a great summer and hope all you did as well!

Happy birthday mya

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

August 7 2001 - Mya was born in Manteca CA. It’s amazing how time flies and she is turning 7 already. Mya has been a wonderful daughter and great sister. She is so witty and smart and I believe the world’s best negotiator! I remember spending the night in the hospital with Carrie while she was in labor with Mya. We were so excited for Mya to come. We originally decided to name her Mariah (we even told a few people that was her name) but after holding her and being with her Mya seemed to fit much better. I remember how we would warm her bath towels in the oven so after her little bath in the kitchen sink she would have a warm towel to be swaddled in.

My great girls

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

photo

Today I was watching the girls while Carrie was shopping with the girls. I thought how fun and cute they are

Livy was fitting herself into the lego bucket… Is she really that small!

Mya tried to fit into hte bucket as well… At almost 7 she doesn’t fit anymore.

Kennedy was walking around all evening with her skort in an inverted style. She’s trying to make a fashion statement.

I didn’t capture a picture of Madie but she was signing and watching a Veggie Tales movie!

Check out these great pictures. We had fun. Luv you girls

Benton’s related to Mary had a little Lamb

Published by mblyman under Geneology

Remember the famous nursery rhyme “Mary had a Little Lamb”… I’m sure we all have the first couple lines memorized

Thanks to Uncle Paul we have discovered the we are related to the actual Mary who had a little lamb that followed her to school one day.

Read more about Mary Elizabeth Sawyer as Mary with the little lamb. We are related to her along the Benton line down to the Sawyers. We can all be a little more proud to know we are related to the famous Mary who had a little lamb.

However, as a quick note I suggest you read the whole article about Mary because apparently the poem was originally published in another book by someone different.

Madie turns 4 - A year in review

Published by mblyman under The Lyman Family

Madie Eating BreakfastHappy Birthday Madie!

Today marks year number 4. Madalynn was born in Logan Regional Hospital 4 years ago! Man how time sure flies. This year for Madie has been full of changes for Madie.
A move to Woods Cross meant a new school and new doctors. She has progressed wonderfully this last year and is such a wonderful joy and spirit in our family! Kennedy and Madie are such good friends, as are all our girls. It is such a wonderful thing to have girls so close together in age. They play and help each other and each adds a wonderful spirit and personality to the mix.

Stop Oil Speculation - Lower Gas Prices

Published by mblyman under Melting Pot

Yesterday I was reading through my email and came across and email from Delta airlines (today I got another email from the President of the air transportation association) about how Oil speculators are driving the price of oil up.

The email pointed me to www.stopoilspeculationnow.com that allows you to enter your zip code and send a message (email or letter) to your congress person! The website also has some pretty interesting statistics such as: “As speculators continue to dominate the market, the volume of oil traded “on paper” has been as high as 22 times greater than the volume of oil consumed.”

I sent an email to my congressmen letting them know that they need to fix the laws and regulations surrounding oil speculation. If the price of gas is causing your financial budget a little grief you might consider doing the same and passing the word along.

Juan Pablo says hi

Published by mblyman under Melting Pot

Bogota TempleBelow is a video from the Alejandra Trujillo and her four year old son Juan Pablo. Alejandra and the Trujillo family is a family that I taught the gospel to while serving a mission in the Colombia Bogota South Mission in 1998. Alejandra and her mother Ayda were both baptized while I served in the Marsella Ward in Bogota. I also threw in a  picture of the Colombia Bogota Temple that was dedicated while I was serving in Colombia!

Juan Pablo is an amazing little boy. He is very fluent in English and he seems to be a great kid (I’ve never personally met hmi other then over the phone, online chat, and through video). It is wonderful to still be in contact with families from my mission.
