Mya was in charge of family night the Monday before thanksgiving. She planned the whole lesson herself, shot the video and presented a heart touching lesson on learning what gratitude and being thankful are all about.

The best part… she included her american girl dolls. Enjoy the video!

I saw this great video from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It depicts a great story of one of the 9/11 survivors and how he changed his life for the better through his experience.

I remember that on September 11, 2001 I arrived at West High School in Tracy CA where I taught 9th grade Physics. Mya was only a month old and Carrie and I lived in Manteca CA. I remember when I arrived at school everyone was in shock. We were all watching the news. The entire day we dedicated to watching the news and trying to understand what was happening.

So I’m a little behind on the blogging. Well now that it’s August and school is getting ready to start I’m catching up.

May & June 2009

In May we did lots of exciting things. Carrie got together with a bunch of people in the ward and stake and did the walk for a cure in memory of Eileen Knighton. They had a blast and it was great to remember Eileen in such a wonderful way.

Dan Phelps and Allison Jones were married on June 19, 2009.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed being a part of such a great experience!
